Local Newport Dance Students Step on Stage with Professional Dancers!

Ballet Cymru associates will be performing in their production of ‘a Midsummer Night’s Dream’ at the Riverfront Theatre on the 14th and 15th of November.
Award winning Ballet Cymru have been running a unique associates programme since 2011 which gives young promising dancers from the Newport and surrounding areas aged 12 years and up the opportunity, understanding and insight into what life as a professional dancer may entail through a closer and more regular working relationship with the company.
There is a serious lack of professional dance training available to young people in Wales; any promising young dancer must travel outside of Wales to attend an Associate Programme connected with a professional ballet company.
This is the first time that they have had this fantastic chance to shine with the professional dancers. There are 18 local dance students (9 each night) who will get the opportunity to dance as fairies in this magical production. |
