Announcement from National Dance Company Wales

Ann Sholem is stepping down from her position as Artistic Director of National Dance Company Wales having previously founded the company, which is currently celebrating its 30th anniversary, with her husband Roy Campbell-Moore.

Ann Sholem said “NDCWales has been my life’s work that until May 2013 I shared with my partner Roy Campbell-Moore - I feel the time is right for me to leave NDCWales so that we can continue our work together. I want to thank everyone who has contributed to the Company’s success and for the artistic quality we have achieved together. It is a great accomplishment that I leave as we celebrate our 30th prosperous year and immediately following our recent successful seasons in London, Cardiff and Glasgow. I think it timely I leave as we just received a 5-star review from Theatre Royal, where I began my career as a dancer with Scottish Ballet. We should be very proud of all we have achieved as a company and I leave knowing there are still many more successes to come.”

Andrew Davies, Chair of NDCWales said "On behalf of the Board of National Dance Company Wales I wish Ann well in her future career. She has demonstrated vision, great skills as an impresario and, of course, outstanding creative dance credentials. She has made a huge contribution to the dance and arts scene in Wales and the UK through the establishment of NDCWales which, in its 30th year, is performing at an extremely high level artistically and receiving excellent reviews from the UK media.”
