Sherman Cymru wins Arts Category at Cardiff Life Awards 2014
Sherman Cymru took home the award in the Arts category at the Cardiff Life Awards 2014 beating 19 applications, which included Wales Millennium Centre, Chapter Arts Centre, National Museum of Wales, Ten Gallery and Music Theatre Wales.

The aim of the award ceremony is to support and recognise the achievements of independent businesses and reward them on their success with a prestigious award.

The CLA Judges said that Sherman Cymru stood out as "They're developing the next generation of Welsh playwrights... Cardiff needs this kind of encouragement"

Sherman Cymru’s PR and Campaigns Manager Suzanne Carter represented the company on the evening and said, "We are absolutely thrilled to have won this award. Cardiff is a cultural hub with so many great venues and organisations all striving to show the wealth of talent and passion for the arts and culture in Cardiff and across South Wales. We are privileged to be recognised and rewarded for the hard work and dedication shown by everyone at Sherman Cymru."

Sherman Cymru's newly appointed Artistic Director, Rachel O'Riordan said, "This is fantastic recognition for Sherman Cymru. As the newly appointed Artistic Director I'm really looking forward to working with the talented team here and we have some exciting announcements coming up over the next few weeks about our future plans."

The awards were held at City Hall on March 6, and presenter and journalist, Sian Williams compered the awards with a performance from Only Men Aloud.
