A Quiet Night In With Naomi Jalil

Ssshhh. You’re all invited to a party back at Naomi’s flat but remember you have to be quiet. She was only supposed to be having a few drinks but she got a little excited and now she wants you to join in the fun.

She has a volatile relationship with vodka and religion but tonight she seeks redemption from both - just as soon as she has the last bit of vodka that’s in the bottle over there.

A father who seeks to rescue her soul, a mother’s wishes for forgiveness, a curse that haunts her life, a friend who thinks she has a drink problem so her new best friend is a rock on the beach because he won’t let her down and he knows about the sea. Half catholic yet half Muslim, a childhood in England before teenage years spent in Wales it takes only a little alcohol to confuse not only her night out but her identity.

Accompany her on an unforgettable journey about life, love and vodka. And remember Sssshhhh.

Slush Theatre will be performing A Quiet Night In With Naomi Jalil at Aberystwyth and Cardiff in the autumn.
