Two New Productions from Rareseed at the Melville
Rareseed Theatre present two new and exciting productions at The Melville Centre in Abergavenny next week on Thursday 25, Friday 26 and Saturday 27 June at 7pm.

The works are performed by young people in a double bill - Brokenville by Philip Ridley and Tents by Liz Pearce.

Philip Ridley is an established writer for young people and was named by the Guardian as ‘the master of modern myth’.

Brokenville - stories are for joining the past to the future – centres on the aftermath of a catastrophic event where the characters have no idea what has happened and are unable to remember who they are.

They weave fantastic stories to shield themselves from the reality and while the drama is thought-provoking it is also very funny and gives the young players plenty of opportunities for characterisation.

Tents is a very original and creative show, devised by the Seeds section of Rareseed. It explores a journey from one world to another, when all you once had is now gone. It's a highly visual piece and the themes and theatrical images that the cast paint, will resonate for many people.

Tents will provide the audience with a unique opportunity to experience how the devising process works and how a new piece of drama is created.

Rareseed is a professionally led youth theatre based at the Melville Centre in Pen-y-Pound, Abergavenny, where young people have the opportunity to have fun developing their skills within a safe and creative space.

Tickets for all performances are £8.00 (£6.00 concessions) and will be on sale from the Borough Theatre Box Office (01873 850805) and at the Melville at performances subject to availability.
