Orbit theatre casting for Lord of the Flies

Cardiff’s own Orbit Theatre Company is hoping to cast its new show ‘on the double’ when they hold auditions next week. The search is on for Jack, Ralph, Simon, Roger, Piggy and others to star in their production of William Golding’s classic LORD OF THE FLIES. But the biggest challenge of all will be finding a set of young male twins with a passion for acting who can take on the roles of Sam and Eric, young twins who always travel and do everything together. Young hopefuls can attend auditions on Tuesday 8 April.

This could be the break that a set of twins have been waiting for, the opportunity to work closely together and ‘tread the boards’. Orbit are certainly ready for a ‘double take’!

Lord of the Flies tells the story of a group of boys who are stranded on a deserted island when the plane they were travelling in crashes over the ocean. Without adult leadership the boys must lean to fend for themselves.

Rehearsals for Lord of the Flies begin soon and the hunt is on for 14 aspiring actors, playing age between 9 and 14 to play the boys left alone on the island. Auditions take place on Tuesday 8 April at the Orbit Studio Theatre, Cardiff from 6pm. Anyone interested in taking part is asked to call Cyril Owen on 029 2051 2000 or Malcolm Brooke on 029 2075 6034 to book an audition place.
