Welsh playwright featured in New York festival

LINGUA - a new play by Welsh playwright Roger Williams - has been selected as a finalist by The Lark Theatre for presentation in their Playwrights' Week 2003. The annual festival held in New York in June workshops and presents eight new plays over seven days. LINGUA was selected from over 600 new plays submitted to the theatre.

LINGUA is a play about four endangered languages each campaigning for an international grant to promote their language's survival. Four linguists from Australia, New Zealand, the USA and the UK congregate in a Cardiff hotel to battle it out for the money. There can only be one winner, but how can you save one language over another?
