Secrets of Sherwood – The Legend of Robin Hood

Friday 1 August at 7.30pm – Caerleon Amphitheatre
Saturday 2 August at 7.30pm – Raglan Castle
Sunday 3 August at 8pm – Caldicot Castle
Monday 4 August at 8pm – Skenfrith Castle

The splendour falls on castle walls next week, as the venerable stones of the area are transformed into medieval Nottinghamshire, when the Full House summer tour comes to the region. With performances at Caerleon, Raglan, Caldicot and Skenfrith, Secrets of Sherwood is an outdoor theatre extravaganza for the whole family, complete with songs and music, devised and presented by a full cast of merry men and women, with the obligatory sprinkling of baddies. Months of research into the traditional legend have produced a new take on the old tale, where well-known characters like Robin, Friar Tuck and Little John battle with familiar foes and new enemies in the greenwood of old England.

The show stars Andrea Lewis as Maid Marian - the former presenter of BBC Radio Wales show ‘The Weekenders’ and lead singer of The Darling Buds will be returning to her home town of Caerleon for the premiere on 1 August. She is supported by cast of highly talented singers and actors, including Jamie Jarvis who will be remembered by viewers of Eastenders where he played Irene’s toy-boy Troy.

Audiences who recall the company in their former incarnation as Centred will remember the spectacular production of Merlin’s Child which toured the region in 2000, and will recognise their trademark story-telling style and use of giant puppets, with powerful vocal numbers and original music.

It’s an ideal chance to get the whole family together, so why not make a real outing of it and bring along a picnic? Bring your own seating, chairs or rugs, and enter into the exciting world of outdoor theatre!
