Green Ginger awarded Best Overall Performance

On its return from a hugely successful tour to Croatia and Slovenia, Green Ginger received news of being awarded the Milan Cecuk Grand Prix for Best Overall Performance at the 36th International Puppet Festival (PIF) in Zagreb.

The company performed its comic-book spoof "Frank Einstein" to packed houses in both countries during a tour made possible with generous support from Wales Arts International and the British Council.

Company co-director Chris Pirie said "The touring team was delighted to have had such an enthusiastic response from audiences during the two-week tour and Green Ginger felt hugely honoured to scoop up another award following last year's major prize, also in the Best Performance category at the World Festival of Puppet Arts in Prague."

The show is imminently returning to mainland Europe in its French language version for three performances at the World Puppet Festival in Charleville-Mezieres, France (Sept 21 and 22).

Upcoming UK performances include Pembroke Festival on Sept 12, Gulbenkian Canterbury on Oct 15, MAC Birmingham on Oct 18 and three nights at Bristol's Tobacco Factory from Nov 27 to 29.
