Laban - Dance Conference     

Registration is now open for the International Association for Dance, Medicine & Science (IADMS) annual conference. The conference will be hosted by Laban in South East London. Laban are one of the leading institutions for contemporary dance artist training in Europe. The 3 day conference is aimed at those involved in the health-care, education, administration and supervision of dancers including physicians, osteopaths, podiatrists, nutritionists and other specialist areas.

The objectives of the conference are to provide:

-an insight into the causes and treatments of musculoskeletal problems in dancers.

-an update on recent dance science research.

-an awareness of both the physiological and psychological demands faced by dancers.

-Inspiration and new techniques for teaching

The conference will take place from the 24th until the 26th of October 2003 at Laban in Deptford, South East London. There will also be a ‘Day for Teachers’ on October 23rd. This will be a special one-day conference focusing on promoting dialogue between dance teachers, dance medicine practitioners and dance scientists regarding the implications and applications of recent dance science research.
