The 'Theatres of Science' conference, to be held at the University of Glamorgan, 8-11 September 2004, will address some of ideas and practices taking place at the intersections between drama/theatre and science. Organisers are currently accepting proposals for papers and workshops. The focus of papers and workshops is likely to include - but is not limited to - areas such as: -Plays dealing with scientific issues, themes, histories and personalities -Performance that engages with, is inspired by, or challenges science -Collaborations between artists and scientists -Science as performance -Radio & Television drama and science -Science on film -Ethics and Experimentation -Drama/Theatre, Science and Education -Science Communication and drama The length for delivery of proposed papers should be 20 minutes plus 10 minutes for questions and discussion, and length for proposed workshops should be 90 to 180 minutes. Proposal should include: an abstract of no longer than 300 words; title; type of presentation (paper, workshop); short biography; technical requirements; contact details; and institutional affiliation (if applicable).
