New spring season at the Sherman Theatre

The Sherman is one of Britain’s premiere theatres for young people and is the major producing venue in South Wales in the centre of Cardiff.

For Cardiff’s 2005 birthday celebrations, The Sherman aims to give its own ‘present’ to Cardiff in the form of 8 home-grown productions. In the Spring, The Sherman Theatre Company is presenting two new plays - The Shadow of a Boy by Gary Owen and Waves in the Chatroom by DJ Britton for ages 13+. For Summer the company will be producing a heart-warming tale for ages 6+ about the life and stories of Hans Christian Andersen, called Swan Songs. Following on from the success of their 2004 Christmas show for ages 6+, The Sherman Theatre Company’s 2005 Christmas show, Merlin and the Cave of Dreams, is already on sale.

As well as all this, The Sherman Theatre has got weekly activities and shows for children, comedy, musicals, the best of Welsh drama, welcoming staff, a great little restaurant, a thriving youth theatre of 200 and Acting Out Cardiff, an award winning arts education scheme. Tickets for the Spring season are available now – just call the Box Office on 029 2064 6900.
