"Interiors" at the Sherman Theatre

'Interiors' runs from 17th - 19th March 2005 in venue 2 of the Sherman theatre.

It is a piece developed using members of the Sherman Youth Theatre and three different writer/director teams. All three groups were given the same initial stimulus which is that the piece must take place in the same set - the corner of a room which has two doors leading in and out of the space. All three groups were kept seperate and know nothing of what the others had done. The first they will see of each others pieces is on the opening night, so it will be interesting to see the differences in approach taken to the same space.

One of the three writers involved, Owen Thomas, (runner up in Best New writing category at the 2004 Theatre in Wales awards) says of his contribution:

"My piece is called 'Cuckoo' and is co-directed by my collaborator on 'Meat', Alex Ferris. It stars three very talented youth theatre members by the names of Luther, George and DJ. The play is a dark comedy exploring the effect of an 'unwelcome guest'. Preliminary viewings have been very favourable, so I hope the audience will enjoy this awkward half hour that asks the question 'what would you do in this nightmare situation?'
